Amazing. Why must they have 5 days of racing anyways. 4 days is enough.
They did this couple of years ago when there were no turf racing that time and field sizes were big.

And here I thought they told me synthetics would increase field sizes. Along with being no mainenance.

Brilliant.

Oh Vay, I wonder how much $ they lose being closed. That's aweful

they're still open for simulcast. heck, they may end up making money-folks will come and bet, but they won't be paying out purse money that day.

while we're on the subject, del mar announced they'll only operate 5 days/week through their entire meet, adding mondays as a dark day to the usual tuesdays.

will the message board be dark for evah?

i never lurked there but from what i've heard around here it was a missed opportunity.

Still costs money putting on races.
When I last looked California was laying
off... oh about everyone.

Whole State is in a bit of a pinch.
Scuds said purse money was cut also.

So I guess it is easier to simulcast as Z said.
