Weather on Derby Day?

For Hoss. :zz:

i was just going to start a thread to bemoan how Friesan Fire will be bet down by knuckleheads, who didn't handicap him, but figure because it is an off track that FF is somehow the "mudder" because of the weather in the La. Derby.

Prado is going to feel ridiculous maneuvering a stretch limousine like Dunkirk back there in midpack with a all those taxis. Especially on an off track. Babe

When was the last sloppy track derby? Go For Gin? If you look at it that way it will be more than likely fast even if it rains a day before the derby as long as it's dry on Sat. Track Maintenance staff can do wonders these days.

Smarty Jones

The only two Derby's I ever went to in person were won by Go For Gin and Smarty Jones.

I'm probably not going this year ... so i'd assume the track will be fast.

Lion Heart was the speed in 04, Smarty sat second most of the way around I think. I have no idea who was the speed in Go For Gin's year.
