Yeah!!! XM 104 + Sirius 126...awesome!

Steve,

That is awesome news about the show going on XM too. I have an XM built into my car and added Sirius later, but the XM radio definitely has better gain, so it will be a better listening experience for me driving home from work.

Best wishes for continued success in broadcasting (and at the windows) :)

Joe

Happy to announce... 'At the Races' on Sirius 126/XM 104 starting Monday.

Great news! except that now i've got to upgrade my XM subscription to get the 'best of sirius' package. Would never listen to Stern or Martha, but you.... a totally different story entirely!

Good to see the show expanding.

I have been bugging Byk about this for 2-3 years.......This is tremendous news which I hope is NOT a one week thing because of the Derby. The drive by listening audience that would hear the show on XM may make more of an impact on the numbers than expected. Great News Congrats Steve...

So we have to upgrade our XM subscription to get "At the Races"? I thought it was odd that my XM did not have a channel 104. dangit

richrosa 04-27-2009 10:27 AM

Great News!!

I was already upgraded. If you ask hard when you call XM will give you a free three month trial.

jms62 04-27-2009 11:37 AM

Thats great... Stern in the AM and Byk in the PM... Makes for a easy commute...

viscount26 04-27-2009 02:40 PM

That means I'll be calling in to the show again, as I have xm in the car and spend Tuesday's & Thursday's driving round the 5 Boroughs :D

Did some technical snaffu stop the XM feed from being on 104? The channel does not exist on my radio......

I think you have to upgrade your subscription to get chanel 104

Kasept 04-27-2009 08:01 PM

KC got the details during the broadcast and it's as City and Rich said... Shockingly, ATR has been added to the "Best of Sirius" package. $4/month! Just a $1/week... .20 a day.. Less than .07 an hour! That's a lot of racing talk entertainment for your money!

I'm going to see if we can arrange a discount code offer or something to help promote the introduction on XM.

Worse than that is having paid for it and not knowing you weren't getting the best of Sirius....I had the NFL package last year so thought the Best Of....was part of it. Thanks for telling me....

Kasept 04-27-2009 10:01 PM

I hadn't thanked everybody for the well wishes. Greatly appreciate the support.

Is there a way for you to know how many more sat radios are tuned to the show compared to Sirius alone?

Only via the polling that Sirius, and I assume XM, does of their subscribers. But if we were to do a "coupon code" offer for people that are looking to add "Best of Sirius" to their XM subscription, more or less to get ATR, then we could get a partial figure of new listeners at XM.

Sirius estimates that here are 5,000 listeners tuned in at any moment during the 3 hours with a total of 20,000 listening at some point during a week. Obviously adding XM to the mix offers the potential to more than double that. Then there are internet stream/podcast/archive listeners which was at about 9,000 daily when I last looked at the website numbers a long time ago.
