I saw the Dead a couple years ago at SPAC.. Warren Haynes was filling in for Garcia's role... was a pretty good show I believe... but my memory of the event is VERY hazy and I basically just remember the encore of Layla... which was great!

I saw a recent picture of Bob in which he looked very Garcia-like.

Too bad he can't play the guitar, or sing, like Garcia.

It really is embarrassing. No knock on Warren Haynes......but to even mention him in the same breath as Garcia is akin to talking about Kenny G filling in for Miles Davis.

Looking at the montage was bittersweet. My deadhead days seem like a lifetime ago. Recently, I dug out the New Riders album with Vasser Clements, Jerry and the lads. It was still wonderful to listen to except I was doing so in a tie-dye robe and dropping tabs of antacid!

Very soon. Belmont is in sight and Saratoga is looming.
Start a Saratoga roadtrip thread. You'll get lots of cadavers signed up for the excursion. Me included.
