Winner. Is a great story, for sure.

Definitely the feel good story of the Derby. Very happy for him.

Maybe Win Willy can add his own feel good story in about 45 minutes.

slow fractions, 2 of the top 3 finishers were within a couple of lengths of the leader at the quarter pole. Only Hold Me Back in second came from out of it. Massone made a move up the race on the turn and continued on at one pace for third. Terrain collects some more purse money in fourth. (Like I said, must use underneath in exotics.) Join in the Dance and Jojo were the early leaders, finished 5th and 9th.

Can't call General Quarters a Poly-horse; in retrospect we should have seen it coming, with Musket Man validating the Tampa Bay form. Massone's race indicates that the No Cal form can't be discounted.

I would hate to see any potentially nice horse in his hands. Ever.

I'd hate to have a horse run into the ground when he needed time off (Going Wild) or one of the many of his who broke down.

The scary part is had she not gotten hurt, Flanders was just as good, if not better, than Serena's Song.

Flanders hands down was the better horse, injured she still found a way to beat her in the fillies race.

She did produce one of my all-time favorites: Surfside.

Wes Ward: "Mr. Ramsey he (general quarters) just wasn't taking to my microwave program. He wouldn't even respond to being plugged in out of the gate, during the mock 2 furlong trial runs in the morning. He couldn't even outrun my Bring the Heat filly last Febuary. I'm really sorry Mr. Ramsey, I just never thought of giving a son of Sky Mesa out of an Unbridled Song mare time to mature.
