My Trip to Saratoga
First of all I've been to the town but never during the meet so this was my first official trip.
This place is F'n off the charts. So much so Arlington will be hard to visit. Steve Byk's staff Sam, Joey (Ateam) and my friend Matt (Hooves) and all the girls are constantly on the move and forever friendly. It is obviously the place to be on the track. I can't give justice to the hospitality Steve showed us in words. It just can't be done. It was also a pleasure meeting Gander, Oracle, who spent most of the day with us, and seeing my friend Matt for the first time in a couple of years. Steve (Kasept) is a working machine and is non-stop. We as a board and fans of racing are truly blessed to have him for what he does and the passion he shows while doing so. I've done a lot of traveling and this was the best. Some side dishes besides the racing are the girls (unbelievable in numbers and beauty), the park itself, history you can't believe and preserved how it should be, a colony of trainers probably the best in the country who are accessable, friendly and just good guys (Bobby Frankel) spent most of Sunday at Steve's and a staff of guards, cleaning staff, grooms and excercise riders who all seem to be on a working vacation. There pretty much are no rules provided you act civil. Bottom line is we are planning on returning, not next year but in a couple of weeks. Alabama w/e or Labor Day when we could sneak in an extra day. Thank You Saratoga and its people for making this the trip that it was. It far exceeded my expectations |
Wow, sounds like you had a dream trip. Im hoping to make my first trip out there in two weeks. Hopefully the guys will match the girls in the hot department though. :D

You have a nice group of guys Dell. Glad you had fun, my pleasure meeting you all. Wish I could have spent more time with you, next time you come up we'll have to go out.

same here I will keep you posted of our return trip. If I can get my friend Mac to go we'll turn it up a notch. Heck I may spend a night at Oracle's. |

Saratoga better then Arlington Steve???? How could you take good looking women over Beer Belly Bob? I bet the trip was a blast and you will have to tell me about it this week sometime....what days do you think you are going to make it out? I have some passes for you and my last day of work is Million day but I might make it out on sunday to bet depending on how I do wagering on Million day and if I get all my packing done for school.

Tim
Going to try for Friday but will be at the Million for sure. I should be able to find you. The girls at Saratoga are a notch above Arl on a Friday and about 10 times in number. The bar we went to each night after the track, while traffic died down (need an excuse), Siro's had more girls than Party in the park. John will vouch for it I'm sure. See ya soon and before you head back to school. |
Million Day it is Dell, you have seats or Fatman's bar?
Glad to hear you had such a good time. I can't wait to get out there and have a Vegas style type of no sleep, chasing women, yelling at Oracle, talking ish to Jean Luc Samyn, and lots of drinking. |
Scavs,
I'll be at Fatman's early and outside, either in the grandstand tent (by twi spires desk) or by an outside beer stand (Brett) is the bartender near the finish line later. |
Alright, I have two boxes for Million Day but my dad is being bootleg and thinks he is taking the wives and his friends wives. Boxes are right by fatman's actually. (bootleg white seats, my dad's action must be declining because last year i had finish line seats with a TV)
I am not going all day if their wives come because I always end up having to talk to them all day while they weasel away to play simulcast...If wives come, I will be their for the six stakes races, if the wives don't come, I'll be there at 11ish, with a smile on If the wives don't come, space could be abound, thus you won't have to be outside with the commoners that have no clue, and we can double our fun. I'll let you know regarding possible box, no guarantees, how many people are you going to be with? |
Saratoga has it all. The history, the eye candy, the best trainers and jockeys amongst the fans.

Dell,
Glad you and your crew enjoyed the weekend. It was a pleasure to have you around the 'Cue... And thanks for the excessively kind and gracious comments. We've got a pretty special atmosphere going at the Spa, and it's rather infectious. Happy that people get to share in it and come away with that feeling of how unique it is... See you back here soon!
