Wow, that blows. You have an amazing start as a rookie and then a few hours later you're dead cause some @sshole in a minivan runs a red light.

Antitrust32 04-09-2009 12:12 PM

That is really sad :( poor guy

RIP

MaTH716 04-09-2009 12:12 PM

What a horrible story, the kid had his whole life ahead of him. Just tragic for everyone involved. To use Sniper's word, there are just too many @ssholes out there.

ddthetide 04-09-2009 01:25 PM

he is from our local area.

Postponed tonite's game. That was already a horrible night(they blew his gem.) Angel fans gotta feel like what's next? These cases where it's a 2nd time DUI are the worst. Feels like it was avoidable (if we could do a better job the 1st time.)

1st time offenders get off way too easy. Gotta strengthen those penalties, got too. ESPECIALLY when they blow a number. Off topic, my bag. None of this bs hotel for a couple days with counseling. Throw their rear in the jail for a couple days, not hours. If you don't learn from that, you never will.

mclem0822 04-09-2009 07:12 PM

Terrible news.....

I understand they arrested the little dirtbag, after he fled the scene! Hope they nail his dumb ass! When are people going to learn, drinking and driving is a path to tragedy!

Have to come up with a way to make one's system intolerant to alcohol
levels that endanger innocent people. If you get caught driving drunk, then the price to pay should be giving up your right to partake of alcohol (atleast for a certain amount of time.)

timmgirvan 04-10-2009 12:54 AM

The best solutions will be to disable the auto when driver is intoxicated, and
those ankle bracelets that alert the police when a certain alcohol level is reached(mainly for "house-arrest") types....but you get the idea!

It's worse than DUI, he has been driving with a suspended license and been sited for nurmerious violations and with all disreguard for the system he did as he damn well pleased.

I cant talk about the rest of the nation, but in SoCal you see drivers that will blow through red lights and stop signs like they were not there. There is a large number of dangerious drivers that weave in and out of 4 lanes at over 80 mph with less than a 1/2 car between them.

He had no license and a pile of tickets that NOBODY was going to anything about, so he was pissing on the system.

We need to send his hood rat A s s to Texas so he punishment will be carried out. Bleeding heart Democrats in California haven't fried someone in decades.

I think the biggest factor is the state is broke. There are whole talk radio shows dedicated to not raising taxes. Criminals take advantage of the fact people don't want to pay to punish them. If we would stop encouraging illegal aliens to come up here and have kids, then it would be a damn good start to a better fiscal situation. Of course we should allow immigration, but it should be up to us to determine at what rate we do that. Other countries wouldn't allow this many poor people to come live there. We can't do it either.

Situation really sucks, but I not willing to leave till I have to speak spanish.

hi_im_god 04-10-2009 07:15 PM

he was charged with murder (vs. manslaughter) today.

the prior conviction for dui was cited as the primary reason.

Three counts and what it means is that the people of the great state of California will support him in a life style that a hood rat dreams of for the rest of his life.

Cannon Shell 04-10-2009 10:11 PM

$5 worth of electricity would solve the states problem in this case

chucklestheclown 04-11-2009 02:16 AM

Rough crowd here. This is a tragedy, and he should be punished, but the chair? Even Texas probably wouldn't do that.

Let God deal with the case, and you're the one that thinks they are so smart when sitting on a jury panel and wont throw the switch.

Texas wouldn't wait for the trial to fry his rat A S S

The only problem with the death penalty is the possibility of putting an innocent person to death. In this case there is no doubt whatsoever that he was responsible (or flagrantly unresponsible if you prefer).
