Hollywood Park increases admission and parking prices?

I'm shocked, I figured the opposite would be happening, as less people have money to gamble

According to documents filed with the California Horse Racing Board, Hollywood Park intends to raise its general admission price from $7 to $8. The price will still include general parking and a program. General admission for seniors on Wednesdays will increase from $4 to $5.

Some parking rates will be higher. Preferred parking will be $5, an increase of $2, while valet parking will rise from $8 to $10.

It's been said a million times on here...charging admission so that people will then gamble on your product just doesn't make sense

But it isn't like the people that are actually gambling have to pay to get in anyways. Me and you haven't paid to get into Arlington since they institued the TSC. They are charging all the people that want to just sit there and party with the Rumba machine or some hilarious cover band.

It's still ridiculous to charge admission. At least the cover band has an encore that doesn't completely suck ass. The finale at Hollywood? $25,000 maiden claimer. Who wants to pay to see that s.hit?

Agree.

People who are going to go to the track are going to go period. I'm surprised they didn't raise it more.

I agree with you 100%. They should be doing everything they can to get more people into the place... more people there, more $$ in the pools, the more they make. but then again, that makes sense

It costs me $0 to admit myself to my living room and $0 to park my ass in my computer chair. Thats some kinda deal.
