FG trying to one-up GP

Let's me take a moment, while the intelligencia of the the board are busy discussing more important things, to wonder why FG has failed to fully time TWO races this past week. (And just when GP seems to be on a positive run, too.) One of the races being their most important race of the year to date, the Louisiana Derby. Nothing like missing a split in a stake race. And I just love the way EQUIBASE fills in the missing fraction. Maybe we can get CJ or DrugS or anyone else who never watches races with a stopwatch nearby to tell us what they ran to the MILE. Certainly wasn't 33 and change.

So, there's no OFFICIAL Mile split for a TC prep?

I'd think that if I were making speed figures, especially figures I'm selling, and I had a voice, most of my bitching would be about **** like this (and not about who's getting extra help from the vets).

**** like this is what embarrasses a game that's way behind the times.

The race video shows the mile split going up well before Friesan Fire reached the 1/16th pole. Maybe a raindrop triggered the timer.

I noticed it when working up the internal fractions Sunday and had the same thought as TFM... "No mile split for the Louisiana Derby? Amazing..." One will emerge this week off a hand time. I'll ask Haskin to do it. He's pretty good with that.
