The government is here to make energy costs skyrocket then ask that we pay the bills for their deadbeat constituents

well that and collect taxes of the inflated prices.

Most people stop paying their power bill when the companies can't shut them off more non-payment. At least the one that do it like clock work.

My dead beat cousin never paid during the winter then he would negotiate a payment plan
until another winter rolled around that he didn't hav to pay

we are just a bunch of suckers

i'm glad to see that other places have this same problem.
if the ones that know how to work the system, put as much time and energy into finding a job we'd all be better off.
the state paying the bills aggravates me bad enough but then these deadbeats pan handle churches. it drives me crazy.

update

3 other states have joined the moratorium on cut-off for non-payments of electric and gas. new york, massachusetts and california.
for those living in these states, IF this is allowed to go on for much longer, you WILL pay higher electric and gas rates.

in Maryland's case one group has asked for the moratorium to last 12-24 months! that will bankrupt utilities, worsen the problem. those of us that do pay our bills will be paying MUCH higher rates to make up for those that don't.
i don't think, this will last much more that an month BUT the public service commissions will make us jump through hoops to turn people off to collect money.
the utilities have already pulled the attorneys together to sue the state. in our case, the city attorney has filed an injunction for us to be exempt from the moratorium.

it's not been well publicized so those of you in mass., ny and cali. may want to start doing some research and notify your state reps and log and opinion.:zz: :zz:

I'm surprised you got even an auto repsonse from the Boy Wonder. I would have assumed he was too busy playing in his band.....

the reps don't want to seem to touch this. they are allowing the psc free run.

NY, CA, MA...3 of the most liberal states....shocking!

Vermont would do the same except most of the tree huggers there still use wood burning stoves rather than electric.
