What will you do for National Problem Gambling Awareness Week?

The week of March 1-7 is an important week for all of us, as it is National Problem Gambling Awareness Week, brought to us by our fine friends at the National Problem Gambling Council.

Strange that there is no mention of the week here. If you need ideas on how to participate in the festivities this week, please refer to the guide, and let everyone else know how you will be celebrating the week.

Well, hell, today's shot. I guess I won't look for a line on the Cleveland-Atlanta game tonight.

As far as during the week, I'll abstain but I'm going to get involved next Saturday. Anyone who knows gambling would want to be involved in the SA Handicap card.

I bet the week passes pretty quickly.

Nothing on there about how to structure a Pick 6 ticket or
basic strategy for blackjack

losing is the only problem gamblers have

Problem Gambling is a real problem and these people are addicted to the action and addicted to the chase and are usually not disciplined bettors.

I've seen it first hand with family members and friends, and it's not pretty. considering 2% of players actually beat this game, i'm sure plenty of our friends and colleagues and fellow posters should examine their/our wagering this week and every week!

that being said, I really like Stealth Attack and Flaming Bullet in the 10th tomorrow at Portland! ex box!

In all honesty, I talked to a guy last summer at a meeting from a UCLA Problem Gambling Research Group, and he said that they don't spend much time or effort dealing with horse racing issues. He said that there are far, far more problem gambling issues with lotteries and slot machines, and that problem gamblers in racing are generally into greyhound racing, because more people play that like lotteries.

I was surprised, though, to not find anything in the "agenda" of the group StopPredatoryGambling.org regarding racing, which only supports the contention that less problem gamblers are into racing.

the perfect time for me to write my state reps and senators, and demand they fix the problem of me not being able to register and gamble on line. thanks for making me aware that there was a week recognized to bring such problems to the fore! i will definitely make them aware i am having a problem being able to gamble.

I will hide vouchers around the track machines
and put on an early Easter Egg voucher hunt for
these disabled.

We will then slaughter a live pig in an
audaciously non-Kosher fashion and
partake in green eggs and ham.

I apologize.

These would be the same folks that if they do go to
the track, spend a least half an eon covering a multitude of
superfecta combinations on one machine.

Then proceed to insert every ticket after the race to discover that one
came up a winner earning them $40 dollars in the superfecta
pool, not realizing they spent $50 dollars wearing down the already
faded button markings in the first place.

You will not be able to indentify these criminals.
They have no discernable fingerprints.

I think everybody on this board should make it a point to go to your local casinos and lobby to get all problem gamblers out!!!!!!!!!Then you could try to convert them to horseplayers, we need to get handles up!!!!!!And fresh players who dont know a thing about horseracing would pump up the pools so we can get inflated payouts!!!!!!Oh wait, we still have to figure out who is going to win the races? S.O.B.

The only problem that the public should be aware of is the absurd high takeout rate.
