aqu race 9

how in the world is there not a refund on the 8 in the last in ny

he spotted the field at least 10 lengths

where is the justice?

There was no refund because the horse stood in the gate and then took a left turn when he finally decided to leave. A refund would have done a major disservice to anyone who legitimately won a bet on the race.

Horses have gate troubles sometimes. It's part of the game. There was no cause for a refund in this case.

andy - if he ran 5th or worse would there have been a refund?

blackthroatedwind 02-20-2009 06:23 PM

Why would there have been a refund?

You need to stop listening to the bad opinions you seem to hold in high regard.

Typicaly the refund will occur if it was the fault of the gate not opening.

Plenty of times the gate opens and they just DON'T GO. It's called refusing. It has nothing to do with the assistant starter or mechanical failure. Those issues result in a refund, a horse that refuses or loses its rider or falls in the running doesn't generate a refund. It's like a horse getting a perfect break and the veering to the inside or outside. No refunds.
