Best of luck to connections, and most importantly CK. May he come back a safe and sound winner.

Can you give me a quick recap (odds, trip, finish, etc)? At work and too impatient to wait until tonight to know how it went. Just saw that he ran out of the money, but outside of that, I can't get any more.

14-1

Broke well, sat off the hip of the winner until the far turn. Moved up almost to the winner at the top of the stretch. Winner squirted away, Klink tired a bit late and finished in the pack that included the next 4 or 5 finishers behind the winner.

Flashed decent tactical speed and just tired a bit late. IF he comes back good and can get into another race fairly soon, he'll be tough to handle.

Awesome, sounds like it went pretty well, all things considered.

Thanks for the update, Bigs.

also looked like he veered out a tiny bit, from being green, in the stretch when he started to tire, which can easily be expected with a FTS. Hopefully he won't do that next time, as it might have cost him a place today.

Comes back good with a start under his belt should make him a force to be reckoned with in the next race.

congrats Bob and Chuck! very nice first start.:tro:

Danzig 02-08-2009 02:51 PM

i thought he looked pretty good til right at the end, didn't maintain a straight line the last hundred or so yards-but i look forward to his next for sure. he was loping along pretty easy early on.

I thought it was a good effort considering the time he missed training the last 6 weeks or so. We sent him down to Richie because even though he was able to get some works in toward the end of December and through January we just didnt get much galloping in. So despite the semi regular work pattern there was a lot of missed time. Was a little surprised that he broke so alertly and showed speed but that will be an asset as he gains fitness and experience. He is an IL bred so as long as Giant Oak stays with the big boys we should be ok. At the very least Scavs was able to have a grand old time!

Chuck, just curious -- from the work, training, etc. perspective -- where was this horse coming from that you weren't able to get much galloping in? Thanks.

Eric
