Sharp Susan is headstrong and really only runs well for Kent D. Will be interesting to see how GG handles her in here. She's got a class advantage over this bunch and there should be plenty of action in the race.

She had a decided class advantage in here but didn't run a millisec today, usually when a horse goes to Drysdale that is a good thing, but I'm not sure that was is the case this time with the previously trained by Mott comment. Something must have gone wrong with her, she really hasn't run a good race in awhile. It will be interesting to see if Drysdale can get her back on track.

I would think, since she did have a significant class edge over these horses, that one of the following factors was in play today:

1) the turf just was not conducive to anything coming (that far) off the pace

2) she was given a race (don't know how much sense this makes)

3) she's ready for the breeding shed

This was a very game filly at one time; sucks seeing her get shitted on by these crows today.

On another note: is there a WEAKER FINISHER in the game than Delgadillo?

I mean, at 9:1, pump the ****ing horse a little bit to the wire.

That horse(UTAHN) usually has a big middle move, and then is just o.k. in the stretch. Doesn't really have "any extra" (as the guy from Arlington would say.) You're right though(it isn't pretty to see him give up that easily.) That horse has a great move into the turn. He should use that to get the lead(probably wouldn't of held that way either, but there's no way he can win if he doesn't make the lead by the top of the stretch.)

6th must have stung. That had to hurt. Good ole Tyler putting people in the woodchucker. That's the kind of bizarre stuff that often happens when Rosario rides severe chalk. I had no idea it was even close. Didn't Trevor even call Gruff the winner? Weird sh-it happens with that boy on short stuff. Ventana, Brought it, and this Gruff horse. There's three of them right there.

This horse is NOT a hanger. He's just always asked too soon; and he isn't the gamest of horses. He needs to be ridden one of two ways:

1) DON'T MOVE HIM TOO SOON --- no reason to bid midturn (either last time or today)

2) if he's moved early BUST HIM and RIDE HIM hard to the wire

If he makes the lead prematurely and holds decently in a race that collapses badly going 6.5F (last out), it follows that he should win on the cutback to 6F. Unless, of course, idiots are involved in the equation and negate this advantage.

It doesn't matter; he's 9:1 and worth a bet.

He should do the second option. That horse really wants to go after about 2 furlongs. He has a huge burst into the turn. I don't think he wants to wait with that burst. I think he tried that today, and they'll go back to letting him run(into the turn) next start. He could of been right up alongside that 1 horse coming out of the turn. Don't know who would of won. He had a shot today. Don't you love it when they start experimenting without telling you?

I should of taken the $4.80 to show on Utahn. He comes to play every time. His lone out of the money finish was a 4th by 2 lengths. I hate to show bet, but that internal burst makes him a really good show horse. I thought about it last night. He was pretty tired late last time. I had a little question whether that might have emptied him totally, but he looked about the same today.

The 6.5 F downhill is often tough on favorites, the race that puzzled me on the 6.5 downhill was Dawn After Dawn running a big race at 12:1 after 2 very dull races on the syth. Rarely the off Gomez angle works but the horse pulled a big one after looking like she had seemingly soured.

I didn't bet this race and it HURT. This was one of the all time BULLSHIT rides by a jock that is supposed to be better than that. If I were part of the connections for this horse, MY BOOT would've been UP Rosario's ASS.
