Tampa Saturday 1-31-09
 

Watch the scratches/changes, turf is iffy today. The sun is out, but I don't know how much drying we've gotten since the rain stopped.

Pick 4 (pre-scratches and on the turf only)

Race 8 - MSW 20k - 6.0f dirt

8 - Country Connection - Ill bred's dam has produced a first out winner from her three foals to reach the gate. Hyatt sneaky with firsters as he trains them all at his own farm....
6 - Palace Cat - Horrible start compromised her chances last out. Nice maintenance breeze since. Looking for a much better effort today with a decent break.
1 - Serata - Richie Ciardullo still trying to get that elusive first win in his comeback at Tampa. This one gets one more chance at a probable short price in the slight turnback.

Race 9 - OC 32k/N2X - Abt 5.0f Turf

11 - Castles in the Sky - A standout if he draws in.
8 - Boots Are Walking - 2nd off the layoff. Had a spin around the course. Won at AP on "good" turf (which will likely be today's designation).
10 - Kemp - Dirt try was super. May get caught up in a duel with Constitution River.

Race 10 - Manatee Stakes 65k - 7.0f dirt

4 - Star Operator - Super try in the Minaret in her first lifetime start on real dirt. Ziadie/Homeister clicking at 45% over the last two years at Tampa.
2 - Rising Fever - Validated her Brazilian form in the Minaret. Was flying late. Shipped back to Payson between races while the top choice stayed in training at Tampa.
3 - Dee's Rose - Figs are not there, but this one ran them off their feet in her season debut. May be able to steal this one on the front end.

Race 11 - Clm 12.5k - 1mi 40yds dirt

2 - Quite the Guy - Sharp work since his debut says it all. This one will be on the front and they'll have to go get him. Allen's slumpbuster.
9 - Summer Party Girl - Will take all of the money because of his connections and runaway victory against N3L company over a wf track. Can handle the step up, but not invincible.
1 - Bluelick - Razor sharp, leave off at your own peril.
8 - Sir Tyler T - Drops in from an even effort at 16k. Monsterous positive jock move makes this one a contender.
