Phoenix Golf Tournament

Kev, who you like? Stricker bounce back? I'll take 3 bombs ..Frazier 125-1,

Quinney 125-1, Di Marco 140-1......They ain't worth a buck each. 75 cents on each-> get about $100

Your guy(WEBB SIMPSON) is 70-1......... J.B. HOLMES 40-1

Webb ain't the worst stab at 70-1 for a couple bucks. I think Stricker will be down and out for a few weeks. Tough to get over that puke job.

45-1.......Yes, he lives close to the course(as does Quinney...maybe.) Quinney coughed this tournament up to Badds in 2007. I noticed that Badds hasn't played yet this year. Maybe he has just been practicing for this tournament. He was pretty frustrated last year(as defending champ, he couldn't get anything going.) Surely not the showing he wanted to have in front of his Bible-Study-Group Friends in Phoenix.

My guess is he'd be doing good to win 1 tournament (anywhere on the tour schedule.) He isn't that great of a ball striker. Like I said, Quinney choked horribly to give Aaron his last win. It was here. So, he likes the course, and this tournament is an odd one(Holmes has won twice here, and nowhere else.)
I guess I still need proof that he's over the 80 he shot when leading going into the final round of the U.S. Open in 2007. He hasn't won since. If he wins this year, I guess his best chance to do it is this week. I don't trust him(ever.)

You asked if he's got a chance in a major? The only one for guys like him is the PGA(Major Stepchild) in August.

GPK 01-27-2009 09:08 PM

If BADDS couldnt chip and putt, he could barely beat me.

SCUDSBROTHER 01-27-2009 10:12 PM

Kev, when you were at your best, which course(that they still play on) would suit you best? Harbour Town?

At my very best, when I was playing 15-20 times a month and I was a +4 handicap, I would say the short, tight courses like Harbour Town would suit me best. I rarely ever missed a fairway and I could get up and down from anywhere. I always played well on tougher courses too, because I made a sh*t load of pars, but I played the same on the easier courses too. I never made alot of birdies (except on my home course where I could shoot 68 blindfolded)

we could say the same thing about Jose Maria Olazabal

J.B. Holmes is loving this place again. 5 birds in a row.

Scuds, after today, this Webb Simpson kid has played 10 rounds so far in his rookie year and his highest round is a 70. Doesn't seem too intimidated out there.

Yeah...it seems there isn't one particular part of his game that stands out, but just solid in every aspect.

Seems like he's gunna be like Sominex for fans to watch though. I almost fall asleep looking at his record. Hardly any really low rounds. What is he like Carolina's version of Tom Kite?

Could be, but at this rate, he will have his card for next year wrapped up before the Masters.
