Ness and Centeno

Has there been a falling out?Last year Centeno was the go to jockey, and it seems this year he has been replaced by Ron Allen Jr.Did I miss something?

I think Centeno just wanted to spread his questionable rides on obvious singles to other trainers.

My god isn't that the truth... Royalie in the 9th on Sunday comes immediately to mind...Holy shiat what was that?? Sits 8 lengths off a 24.2/48.2/1:13 and then tries to bulldoze his way through inside :zz:

I thought I was watching HVG

His win % is still pretty high because he gets alot of good horses, but he is not riding ANYWHERE near like he has in the past. He has really given some very questionable and sh*tty rides so far this meet. Used to be able to single him on some horses with a great amount of confidence, but I flat refuse to single him now.

NJ (monmouth) will do that to people

I may be in the minority here, but I also think his turf riding is overrated. There are a few jocks there, that IMO, are have a better sense of timing on the grass. Velez rode circles around his ass last year on the turf. ( I would love to know what has happened to him, as I made a couple nice scores on him last year). I also think Rosemary is a better rider on the grass.

thats b/c you compare everyone to Jose Lezcano:eek:

but Valez has always been a steady jock, especially on the sod, and it looks like this year ol rosemarry is on point and getting live horses from Ziade and others

just wait for calabrese swalkowski (sp) zaide bennett start giving him more looks as the meet progresses, he'll be a top 5 jock, if not top 3 when all is said and done. On the other hand, the jock that has fell off the planet at tb award goes to....................carlos montalvo, he used to be neck and neck w/ centeno last year and the year prior, the guy is lucky to get 3 mounts a day this meet

I agree with kev re: Centeno.

Velez will get it going. Montalvo is getting better mounts as the trainers realize the garbage they have been legging up is just that, garbage. I have never seen such depth of bad jocks. Montalvo is still clicking at 14%, he'll be fine.

I'm sure Griffith/Montalvo enjoyed beating Centeno's ass on the grass yesterday. Centeno loves to jump ship to Clemente/Matz/Kimmel and co. (rightfully so), which will give Montalvo and others their choice of the "locals".

If Paco Lopez continues to ride at GP, the top five at the end of the meet (in no particular order) will be Centeno, Allen, Homeister, Montalvo and Velez. Luis Gonzalez will continue his fairly steady riding, but I think he'll end up out of the top five.
