How retarded Indiana is....

60 in a 55

This is what I got a ticket for today while about 3 miles from the KY border. This was going from a 70 MPH zone to a 55 zone, while i was slowing down. Ole boy saw Illi-NOISE plates and lit those cherrys up QUICK....

"License and Registration, please"

"Here is my license and here is my insurance card"

"Your Registration please"

Meanwhile, in Illinois, they ask for license and insurance so while I knew what my registration was, I had no idea where it was, and he stood outside the car and shivered for 10 minutes while I took forever to find it.....

Dude thought 35 degrees was cold, looked like an eskimo, hands me the ticket, I look at it, I look up and he is staring me down.....

It doesn't get better then this

Your state :)

Seriously, I sat there for 15 minutes reading the pamphlet because they can not leave until you leave (at least so I heard)...Easiest $150 that Indiana will ever make

AeWingnut 01-12-2009 02:42 AM

it's total bull

hoovesupsideyourhead 01-12-2009 12:25 PM

65 is brutal..ind state cops are very bad..

gales0678 01-12-2009 02:27 PM

MD state troopers are pretty rough on the east coast

It's funny how this varies. There was an article in the local paper here a couple months ago about speeding along I-81 (65 mph limit) that runs along the western side of Va. I remember a quote from a trooper in the article in which he stated something to the affect of "Why pull someone over for doing 80 mph, when I can wait 5 more minutes and catch someone doing being 90-100." I routinely set my cruise at 79mph when driving on 81 and pass by troopers all the time that never move.

Jersey takes the cake. At least from my personal experiences they do.

Especially if you have NY plates

AeWingnut 01-12-2009 03:37 PM

having a name that ends in a vowel gets you pulled over for bogus infractions. I was doing exactly the speed limit on 116 and he pulls out follows me for 5 minutes while he calls in the plate
pulls me over for no license plate light and wants to search the car. I got to the back of the vehicle and the light works. he just smiles and says, "what's in the trunk"

funny I forgot about all th weaponry
:o
but he didn't seem to mind

If I had to go 55 in a 55, I wouldn't drive anywhere, 55 is SLOW, especially in the middle of no where.

I will say that I like how Indiana is 70 MPH, that is no where in Illinois, even downstate where there is nothing, it is 60MPH

Danzig 01-12-2009 05:08 PM

i was irritated when i left illinois, entered missouri, and the interstate speed dropped to 65 mph from 70. hate when that happens...

i got pulled over the other day-64 in a 55. i was like, what is this guy pulling me over for? i'm only 9 over!! he gave me a warning. :D everyone says if i was a guy, i'd have gotten a ticket. i said you sexist, you..you're assuming it was a guy trooper!

er, it was a guy trooper.

I've known women that get pulled over because he was looking for a date

Danzig 01-12-2009 05:24 PM

i've heard that one of the deputies here (the guy who hit my daughter last year-practically head on, his fault) will pull over high school girls so he can ask them out.
guy's a freak. any reno 911 fans out there--he's our version of 'dangle'. no joke. well..except he doesn't wear shorts.

Never been pulled over in Ohio. Just always heard from the late 80's and beyond that the troopers are strict there. Always looked for that crazy so-called truck driver who pick up hookers and leave them for dead around that state.

I-64 through Illinois I know is 65mph. Usually go 80-85mph (heck there is nothing in Southern Illinois) until I get to about the 25 mile marker towards St. Louis, then I'll do what traffic is doing which is around 70-75. Usually there are some traps though from Mt Vernon, Il to the Indiana state line.

skippy3481 01-12-2009 07:40 PM

I've driven in lots of states and the last 6 miles on 65 heading south into lousiville is by far the worst. Sorry you got a ticket in my area scavs. If you get a ticket in indy i can probably help you out, but i can't help you with the hick cops down there. My mother in law was once pulled over for doing 40 in the same stretch and they gave her a ticket for driving to slow. They said she was going to cause an accident. Did i mention it was sleeting....Its absolutely asinine.

The speed limit being 70 really is nice and most places you can get away with cruising in the low to mid eighties.

What pamphlet? What a car registration is? Just proud you made it thru the southside and gary area. You were feet from real ghetto you know that, right?

Cop handed me a pamphlet about the speeding ticket. Ticket was on the Indiana/Kentucky border, not the Illinois/Indiana border.

I know about the real ghetto in Gary, hope to never go there :)
