Fame & Glory vrs Easy Win
My mare is about ready to race but has presented a interesting dilema.
There is a fillies& mares listed race comming up $64 k first prize & on her past racing history she should make the field but....... & it is a big butttt she hasnt raced for 5 months & also she is a class 1 so i can stick her in a race with a weaker field but prize money is 6k so the question is fame & glory......or Take the easy win & run ? |
what are her realistic chances in the bigger race? If her chances aren't that great, where is the fame and glory in running near the back of the pack in a race like that?
Spot her where she has the best chance of winning |
Top 5 gives her black type & it is on The track where she trains on.
The down side she is doing low 12s which is ok but not fantastic but she is not fully fit yet & we arnt using the stick just yet;) if you want to check her form her racing name is Shooting Stars. |

you already know the answer
the horse isn't 100% if a win is going to bust a condition and make winning another race more difficult... $6k doesn't sound like enough to risk life and limb. Of course it would pay next months |

use the lower race to get the horse totally fit, then enter into a G1 after it.
|
what's your trainers opinion? he should know the horse and where she fits better than anyone.
|
Take the money, then chase the fame. (Easier said than done)
