Gulfstream Park experience

Can anyone tell me what the GSP experience is like? I'm looking to take a weekend and head down there for either the Donn, Fountain of Yute and the Florida Derby. Are tickets difficult to come by and should they be purchased in advance? How are the seating arrangements? I know parking is a pain.

Thanks .

We had no problem parking or anything else. Since we were coming from snow we wanted to be in the sun so the picnic benches (free) were our choice. Horses enter the paddock paraded by you and there's a 200 foot bar 30 feet away (covered and out of the sun). Betting windows etc, it was a short walk to the bathroom but the Rasta's who hang along the paddock fence by the mens room are pure entertainment. Should you ever have the need to feel depressed head up to the slot room and check that out. All in all a smaller than expected track but can't beat the weather or turf racing. GL

You will need to buy tickets in advance for the Florida Derby. There is not much seating at Gulfstream any longer.
