National Council of Legislators from Gaming States Meeting

I am attending the Winter Meeting of the National Council of Legislators from Gaming States (NCLGS). Saturday morning will be quite interesting with the Pari-Mutuel panel discussion. Quite a who's-who of industry leaders, including:
  • Scott Daruty, President & CEO, TrackNet Media, Arcadia, CA
  • Ed Martin, President & CEO, Association of Racing Commissioners International, Lexington, KY
  • Kevin Mullally, General Counsel & Director of Government Relations, Gaming Laboratories International, Las Vegas, NV
  • John Sabini, Chairman, New York State Racing and Wagering Board, Schenectady, NY
  • Alex Waldrop, President, National Thoroughbred Racing Association, Lexington, KY
  • Dr. Scot Waterman, Executive Director, Racing Medication Testing Consortium, Lexington,KY
Really looking forward to the discussion, and I will post updates Friday and Saturday if anyone is interested.

I will lay odds that you wont be hearing anything original from this "illustrious" group. Legislators from gaming states are more of a problem than a solution.

I'll lay odds that someone at that meeting will be suggesting that higher takeout is a good thing for the industry and will increase revenue.:$: :(

I would be interested to hear what efforts the "gaming" states are making to get account wagering expanded into "non-gaming" states, such as Missouri...

Sounds like a winter get away junket not a business meeting .
