I Almost Played Golf Today

45 degrees, no leaves, could not do it. I gotta get out of Ohio. Man I wanna play a round someplace warm and alive, guess I need to move out of this state.

There's an awesome golf training facility (driving range, bunkers, putting greens, etc.) on the grounds of Tampa Bay Downs, in fact there are tote machines in the pro shop. And it was 77 and sunny today. [/rubbing it in]

my Dad lives in PA and plays golf all the time. If there is snow or ice on the ground he will drive just south enough to play.. Hes nuts.

45 degree's is great golf weather for him... he'll play in 28 degree's.

I played Sunday, but it got much warmer than I expected, around 80. A little uncomfortable (Double Rubbing it in):)

Nothing like playing and having to worry about keeping your balls warm :p

Me neither. I was playing so bad I hung them up for the season and focused on getting in shape for skiing. What's your excuse?

Very funny. Whacking my white balls with my shaft in the cold isn't too much fun :p

I was actually starting to play halfway decent again back in August. I got disgusted with myself in the last tournament I played in. I bogeyed 4 of my last 5 holes the second day to miss the cut by 1 shot. It was a pretty long 4 hour drive home that afternoon:) And to be honest, after playing so little the past few years, I just haven't got back into the habit of playing all the time. It's no exaggeration that I used to play 15-20 times a month.

Me too. Now I play twice a month and struggle to break 80-85. Not real fun hacking it around like that.

I played a few games of horseshoes.

hi_im_god 12-31-2008 12:00 AM

i changed my grip recently and it makes all the difference in the world. i much happier with my stroke.

i'd like to try golfing, too.

TheSpyder 12-31-2008 05:57 AM

Try tennis..never lose a ball, can hit a bad shot and recover, and only have to get one racket, not 15 for different shots.

Use to play golf and still do on occassion, but tennis is the sport for me.

Oh, yea, played for 4 hours yesterday.

F*ck tennis. I played for 2 hours a couple months ago. Had a shin splint one leg and a messed up achilles on the other:wf

We're not all as lucky as you Steve. But hold on to some of that weather, I'll be in Tucson in 3 weeks.
