robfla 12-17-2008 01:33 PM

oh geeze.... not this again...........

The Green Monkey was officially retired February 12, 2008 after failing to break his maiden

A portion of his ownership was acquired by the same pinhook sellers, Randy Hartley and Dean De Renzo, who originally acquired and sold him at auction in the 2006 Fasig-Tipton Calder sale. Hartley/De Renzo bought back into the horse and will partner with John Magnier. He will stand at their Hartley/De Renzo Thoroughbreds in Ocala beginning in 2009. The stud fee has not yet been determined.

Should he be successful at stud with Hartley/De Renzo Thoroughbreds an option exists to move him to Ashford Stud in Lexington, Kentucky

thats good news. i just wanted to make sure he is being well cared for.

no particular reason why...he was just a random horse thought.

we can delete this thread if it bothers anyone.

Hell no. We love Green Monkey threads. They're the best. I believe he stands for 5k in Florida. I'm sure that's negotiable.

Is it piling on to LOL when this is on their advertisement?? I hate to discredit the guy.... it isn't his fault that he fulfilled the reality that he had a 99.99999% chance of not living up to his sale price

I hate when people hate on an animal. He didn't speak and tell Tabor to pay 16 million for himself. The Horse did what he was supposed to do and that was run fast as hell at the 2 year old sale and make his pinhooker lots of cash.

Actually he spoke and told them to pay substantially less than run up the $$$ in the sales ring to make Darley look silly. He had an impressive grasp of financial p*ssing contests for a horse.
