I cant believe what people would pay for a smelly cloth that maybe 0.1% of the population may recognize what it is.... crazy

:tro: doin the right thing Philski!! gotta score some points with that!

I have no idea who Emmy Darling is but it sounds like something Morty would say.

slotdirt 12-10-2008 12:50 PM

Man, people are sure bidding on those items like crazy! I mean, who wouldn't spend $5k on something that is probably worth $50!

slotdirt 12-10-2008 12:53 PM

I do have to LOL at the Emmy Darling saddlecloth when the eBay listing actually has the race chart at the bottom showing that Emmy Darling finished fifth in said race.

It's like the Derby saddlecloths... people go nuts for them. Cowtown Cat sold for like $2k...

he finished last.

I don't know if even the horse is worth that.

I was going to get it for you, but the $50 for shipping put me off. You'd think with a minimum bid of $4999, they might've thrown in the shipping.

Actually prices are way down on eBay. A buyers market. (compared to a couple of years ago)

3 years ago I sold Sarafan's 2nd place Arlington Million cloth for $1200. It sold this year for a little over $400.

For what it's worth, the insurance alone on the Sunday Silence cloth is $49.25 and his shipping includes insurance.

letswastemoney 12-12-2008 04:56 PM

seems kind of silly for just a saddlecloth...

letswastemoney 12-12-2008 04:57 PM

says the guy named letswastemoney lol

Look at the prices that small pieces of paper brought, and they're not even one of a kind.

I guess beauty and value are in the eye of the beholder. I could buy a ton of shares in Dee Tee horses for what I have tied up in my bundle of numbered rags. ;)
