Who is wiess?

Crown@club 12-03-2008 02:51 PM

3 Blind Weiss?
Walt Weiss?

timmgirvan 12-03-2008 02:56 PM

I don't like him either, but the buyout is ridiculous! Give him 1 more year, then the hook if the program doesn't improve markedly.

MaTH716 12-03-2008 02:59 PM

Urban Meyer in 2 years.

I was talking to a friend of mine who went to ND. He thinks that Meyer will eventually end up in South Bend.

this is the reason weis didn't get canned now. who can they hire? what high profile is floating around for nd to go after? weis was 4th or 5th choice as it was. nd can't afford that again.
meyer has nd connections, he'll eventually end up there or i'll be surprised.

put down the crack pipe. :D no way urban goes up there. notre dame still thinks they're big ticket, and that any coach would be thrilled to go there. meyer has it made, and it's warm and sunny down there.

apparently notre dame is content with mediocrity, why else keep CW another year?

he turned down notre dame a few years ago--he chose florida over them.

warm weather programs are king right now, which is why les miles stayed at lsu rather than go to michigan, and why i don't see urban leaving a damn good thing for a place that hasn't done well in years.

the well is dry at ND, but I can't see Meyer leaving that Gator program...just plain common sense.

Paul Horning was right. Too many white guys...

Coach Pants 12-03-2008 05:55 PM

Ask me about Urban Meyer on Sunday.

Rudeboyelvis 12-03-2008 06:15 PM

Horrible news. As a Mountaineer fan, I can freely suspect that he would have been welcomed with open arms in Morgantown.

Meyer turned them down and signed on with the Gaytors 4 years ago today (according to PTI).

As much as I dislike N.D., it's only fair to let Weiss stay through his first recruiting class. Which would be next season.

unless they become greatly more talented than they are now. next year can't be any better than 7-5. the excuse now is look at all the FR. and So. they are playing....... so Bama is playing FR. and SO. too....... the domers can't admit they only have minimal amount of talent.

2009 Notre Dame Football Schedule
Sept. 5 NEVADA
Sept. 12 at Michigan
Sept. 19 MICHIGAN STATE
Sept. 26 at Purdue
Oct. 3 WASHINGTON
Oct. 10 Open Date
Oct. 17 USC
Oct. 24 BOSTON COLLEGE
Oct. 31 vs. Washington State (at San Antonio, Texas)
Nov. 7 NAVY
Nov. 14 at Pittsburgh
Nov. 21 CONNECTICUT
Nov. 28 at Stanford

This is not a tough schedule.
Some of the better teams are senior laden.
3 very bad Pac-10 teams with Nevada, Navy
Michigan in the doldrums, Mich St. should be worse.
Purdue with a new coach....
3 Big east teams who did well this year but a very weak conf.

This is a very nice schedule for the Irish imo.
