12/3: Aqueduct (Inner Opener)

Finished out the Holiday Weekend Sunday much the way it started: with a near-miss in the Hollywood P4. Using my top 3 in the last leg wasn't enough, as it was 4th choice Shelbydell winning to wrap the $215 quad payoff. Overall, it was a wonderfully entertaining 4 days of top quality racing with a nice balance of juvenile and handicap action. Hope you did well and enjoyed Thanksgiving.

Aqueduct Inner Track opens today with several new faces in the jocks room and on the trainer roles. We might see some early surprises. Maryland wunderkind Sheldon Russell is one name to note, while Chesapeake sputnick Rosie Napravnik comes up I-95 for the first time. While there are other less familiar riders invading Ozone Park for the winter, two well known NY fixtures are back: Rich Migliore and Jorge Chavez (!).

On the training front, you can expect the usual winner's circle hijinx from Contessa and Levine, but Mike Maker is in town with 3 dozen claiming horses and figures to join the trainer leaderboard elite. And though the best of their barns will head south, Nick Zito and George Weaver are leaving sizeable strings in town. Scott Lake, Alan Iwinski and the Browns (Chad and Bruce) figure to win races as the snow flies, and the Dutrows (Rick, Anthony & Chip) will certainly hit at their typical percentage.

SB,

Do you find Pynaformer interesting at all in the 3rd? Draws outside, yet again, but at least this time Saymn (and trainers are still using this guy because????) will have enough time and room to make his way closer to the rail before the first turn, if he chooses to do so...which is highly unlikely, as it makes too much sense.

Sincerely,

A disgruntled chaser of this horse.

I like him in this spot as the only closer in the race with a fair amount of speed. Must play in multi's

How the hell does the 2 in the third open up at 9/5 so much for the smart guy price here. Maybe the power of the picker now IS actually ruining prices. Hopefully it floats up from here

I guess the connections dropped 2 grand on the early play. Pleasantly Perfect the sire is 38% at route distances although the sample is only 21 starts. Significant?...perhaps but not an enormously powerful stat

What a nice second move by the 2...not enough but very game

Quite a job by Eddie Castro on Driven by Fear. Gets a perfect trip/set-up and Eddie manages to turn it into a fifth place finish. Stunning. Retriever another trip victim, but you were getting 17-1 on Driven by Fear.

Did it look like the Coa ran up his tail at the top of the stretch on the 7 Retriever which would be the second time today Coa has seemingly created a problem for a horse and it's only the 3rd. Whatever he did with the 1A in the first seemed to suck the life out of the horse in the gate but they didn't declare him a nonstarter so it must have been something else that kept him in the gate other than the starters fault. Coa seems to be in a bit of a funk lately...

Jesus I sound like TFM....

all right mister killya......last race what you got?? I am going to take a shot with one of the AE's that drew in for a price.....the 13 Asscher Cut....over the 3,5,6,11 for Super and tri combo's.

$1 dollar super key 13/3,5,6,11

$1 tri box with the 5 horses for $60 dollars

$10 dollar exacta 13/3,5,6,11 and reverse for $5 3,5,6,11/13

Total investment $159 I believe which leaves me McD money for the day which would have been a dynamite day if the 1 didn't with the 8th.

GL all...fixed the error

good luck

I'm putting a ten spot on Hot and Bothered and playing around in a few exactas with the 3,8,11 with her.

Coach Pants 12-03-2008 03:17 PM

Ehhh. Troubled start and stretch run.
