Obama's % of white vote was most by Democrat since Carter (tied Clinton's % in reelection)...that is the one figure that really gives me hope. I think the Republicans need to start distancing themselves from the religious right, as several Rep spokespersons have observed, they are becoming the party of the white southern male...they are even in trouble in the midwest. In 2050 when minority groups outnumber whites, they will be in danger of becoming irrelevant. It will be an interesting next 8 years!
