Jock Mount fees - Horseman office question?

Does the horseman accounting office person have a list of each jockey and their corresponding fees and is that available to anyone? Just curious....

I thought the fees were pretty standard, if you wanted to try and negotiate a different take rate from the purse, there is a list of jockeys with their agent's phone number in the condition book.

They are not. Different from state to state....

I'm sure they are different from state to state. I must have misunderstood your question. At Tampa for instance, if a jock's mount finishes out of the money he/she gets like 35 bucks or something. That is pretty standard ( at least with the 3 different ones I used there). If you are saying that fee is different from Jock to jock, I'm unaware of it.

There is a list of fees that the jockeys recieve in the back of every condition book. From there you can use the charts and figure out what each makes in any race. We used to do it that way to keep track of what we had coming as agents. The only caveat to that is sometimes a jockey will charge 10% if he or she finishes 2 to 5th in a stakes race. Since that fee is not covered through the paymaster his agent will invoice the owner.
