Most of the NY handicapping desk full-timers were let go Friday along with some other staff.

dellinger63 11-02-2008 12:09 PM

I won't because it's just rumors so far. Just wondering whether someone more 'in the know' is hearing the same thing.

They are moving to a more informational product it seems.

One thing I'm sure of- Crist will not shy away from explaining the situation once it's public.

This makes me nervous. I like the Form, and I use it often. I hope things pick up for them.

The form is gonna become obsolete here shortly, web-based everything.
They’re either gonna drive the price up too far (b/c of ink, or so they claim) and or only distribute them to high end consumers, ma and pa’s customers will be SOL. Which would be a shame b/c I prefer the racing form more than any other program, in a time where Brisnet and Equibase are catching up they need to be expanding to try and keep their market share instead of downsizing. Just my opinion.

They installed a DRF kiosk at the Colonial Downs OTB's last year. Print off any card for $1.50 They tried telling me BC weekend that DRF was going away from the paper alltogether. I hate not having the option to buy the paper, but I guess I have gotten used to using the kiosk.

I think people need to educate themselves on where the entire print medium is headed these days.

Of course, how would we know, we spend all of our time on the internet. I wonder why.
