If this is true...

If this report is true Favre is worse than any girl I broke up with...

http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/8...sider-trading?

The legacy of Favre will be tarnished in Green Bay

The "if it's true" part is the catch..only a few people really know the truth

Yeah but considering the source it is most likely true and the only one backing favre is his PR rep Peter King.

Does it really matter? They are so bad that if he was on the sidelines with a headset telling them what plays are comming it still wouldn't have mattered.

Actually that game was a lot closer than the score ended up. The lions were actually winning in the 4th quarter. It is the principal behind it. Do you think he just called the lions? What about Tampa Bay? Good friend John Gruden? Favre wasn't happy being told that he didn't have a place to play in GB and this is his way of trying to get back at the Pack. Also, maybe it have had some effect on his play this weekend? He looked horrible and supposidly text messaged Peter King right before the game. Maybe it messed with his head a little because he got caught doing something he knew was wrong. Just a thought...

Someone mentioned about him tarnishing his legacy. I agree with that statement 100%. He is the one that strung out the Packers with the whole retirement/non retirement BS. As far as him calling the Lions, I really want to believe that it didn't happen. But if it is indeed true, it is nothing but a classless disrespectable act to an organazation that he supposedly loved who also made him a very rich man.
If I was a Jets fan (thank God I am not), I would be thinking that the time he spent talking to the Lions would be better off served looking at a playbook or maybe working on some throws. He was very bad yesterday. If you thought getting Favre would make the Jets 2-3 games better, yesterday was supposed to be one of those games.

Good points.....no more "working man" label for Brett.....more like "Diva"

It will be interesting how this plays out. I have no idea about the public sentiment in GB towards Favre, but my guess is that they will still embrace him when the time comes to retire #4. But I do know in NY that Tiki Barber was adored by Giants fans for many many years. He single handily took the Giants to the playoffs one season and was loved by everyone. Then he decided to retire and go on TV and rip/criticize people in the organization. He became public enemy #1. He only talked trash on TV, could you imagine if he gave tips to the Eagles or Cowboys? Obviously Tiki Barber is not the icon that Brett Favre is.
This whole situation is going to come down to what the Packers organization wants to do. Whether they want to fan the flames and turn this into a real story/fire and jepordize whatever legacy Favre has left in GB. Or do they just let it die (which I think they will do) and set it up for Brett to sign a one day contract and retire his #4 in GB, get a job in the front office and everyone will live happily ever after.

Very true. There still is a lot of love for #4 in GB, but this is not helping that. Since the pack has a bye this week it will continue to be talked about locally since there is nothing else going on in WI sports (badgers are horrific, the bucks will be lucky to win 25 games, college basketball hasn't started, etc.) I don't think the organization wants to make a big deal about it, because there is still a great deal of $ marketing #4 especially when he retires. Local radio guys are already stating that he is dead to them if this is true and that he should retire a Jet. I am not ready to go that far yet, but if it is true it is inexplicable. Favre has lied so many times that you can't really believe anything he says. I especially love the story Paul Hornung told of Brett. Brett and Paul were out golfing and of course drinking and drinking pretty heavily. Later that day Brett comes on Hornung's talk show and Paul asks him about his drinking problem and Brett looks him straight in the face and says I haven't had a drink in over a year. This after he and brett were drinking all day. Just shows the character of brett.

They will still retire his number..might be 10 yrs from now ( that was figure mentioned in GB papers today), but no matter what Morty says, you can't take away what he accomplished.

I'm no Favre apologist, but what the hell kind of question is that to ask Favre on your radio show after you've been out drinking with him all day?

That's like me doing drugs with you all day, and then when all of your friends are around, pressing you to tell everyone how your drug problem is going.

Hornung is just as much of a piece of **** as Favre. Racist too.

As for the topic at hand, Favre sucks as a person and is super dramatic, so I wouldn't put it past him to pull something like this, but all it is is hearsay at this point.

I agree though, that if it is true, it's a pretty stinging indictment of where his priorities are. Pretty egregious considering how bad he's been in the last two games.
