The Meadowlands - Wow!

The Stewards now take things down for what they think might have happened.....not what you can see.

There's a way to build up customer confidence. This customer is now an ex.

TVG was showing the Works during the live running, and only showed about half the race on the replay, but I as well as the announcers are scratching our heads on what they were calling a foul.

Stewards have way too much power in this game.

the_fat_man 10-17-2008 09:34 PM

On a somewhat related note, I bet Chelly B last time out and she couldn't beat a nothing field at LRL. Race before that she gets headed by Lookalike, after moving too soon at DEL. Tonight, Lookalike buries a better field. Game really makes sense.

As for the stewards: **** 'em. At some point, someone really needs to start posting some of these races/decisions online and exposing/embarrassing the idiots.

She clipped heels tonight, almost went down, and still jogged at an unbelievable 4:1.

The stewards apparently found it unbelievable as well. People complain about the NY Stewards but they would have dismissed that call in seconds.

No more NJ for me. Not worth it.

I took a girl on a date and later that evening she asked me to kiss her where it stinks. So I drove her to New Jersey and gave her a kiss.:p :{>:

I loved that horse and lost the W and the Exacta when she came down for ...uh...what did they take her down for...oh, exhaling on the competition. That's the worst DQ I've seen in YEARS.
I don't say that because it cost me. I've actually griped publicly about DQ's that moved me up, when I thought that they were ideiotic. This was bizarre. They put her LAST!!!!

docicu3 10-18-2008 01:20 AM

At Laurel they stayed with the Meadowlands feed for 10-15 minutes while the track announcer eventually narrated the "foul" of the 11 and 3 by the 6 after watching the replay 10-15 times.....causing the 11 to check at that point in the race hardly enough to warrant the DQ. The 6 was much the best taking good money from my own BC fund tonight. Lezcano and his 40% win percentage suffered a correction....

To add to the conspiracy theory, the head on replay of the race now on calracing.com is heavily edited. Just the break, and the finish.

The regular replay shows the apparent clipping of heels while she was ahead of only about 3 of the 8 horses.

Not noted in the chart is that she did appear to cross over on one of the horses in the stretch.

My question is, what the heck was going on that 6 of the horses in the race were scratched?

It's odd to look at a race with 8 horses and see a #11 in the chart.

What race was this? Want to watch the replay.

Thanks,

Spyder

Andy, I had the misfortune of actually being at "The Big M" last night and was flabergasted by the take down. I watched the replay probably about 10 - 15 times and could not figure out what the 6 had done. It was an unfathomable take down and I think NJSEA racing lost the two of us as customers tonight. Not that I'm a big loss as I only the the races in NJ on one or two days a year but no more when you get calls like that.

It is so painful to live in NJ and be a horse racing fan, with the only legal agering alternative being NJBets, it is disgraceful that our corrupt double dipping politicians are letting the game slip away in this state. On the bright side it is only a little over an hour to the BIG A.

I watched at home online and viewed the "stewards" replay off their feed over and over. I saw the horse near the back get shoved into the rails and the grey take evasive action but for the life of me I figured that I was fine because neither of my horses were near that.
My friend was here and just as they started blinking the winner's number, our food delivery showed up. I went to the door to get the food and I heard her holler, "JESUS H!!!! They're blinking the winner!!!" I damn near dropped a large pepperoni on the poor kid. Unreal.

I don't bet NJ alot, I think I may start to bet less...

I just watched the replay and that indeed is maybe the worst DQ I have ever seen. How does Stewart Elliot (and why does he) claim foul against Lezcano on the 6? It was the horse to Lezcano's inside (I think the 11 and Marquez) who caused all the trouble. Will they also try to give Lezcano days for this phantom DQ? I wonder what the thought process (or lack of) of the stewards was in this situation, cause they blew this one big time.

Cannon Shell 10-18-2008 08:31 AM

The stewards in NJ have a major hard on for Lezcano. His agent is one of my best friends and he has told me some incredible stories of things they have said to him.

AeWingnut 10-18-2008 08:33 AM

I watched the editted replay several times. Elliot definately pulls his horse up but it is very difficult to see why. The only thing I can figure is the horses behind the winner were shorter odds and we all know how much the stewards love to move up favorites.

Is this agent the stepbrother to the cousins uncle's 3rd ex-wife next door neighbor that works in The White House??

At dinner tonight the topic of Allumeuse came up. She was the filly who was DQ'ed at SAR about 20 years ago in a complete error. She was literally no place near the incident and stewards lost their jobs over it.
That was the first thing I thought of last night when that filly came down.
