Website for Steve Byk

He might find this useful after the Breeders Cup Classic next week.

Hey.. I'm not "against" Casino Drive. But it would be irresponsible for me to suggest people build their Classic wagers through him at the underlaid number he is likely to be.

Hey funny guy... isn't the great thing about this game is everyone is not only entitled to their opinion but back it financially (unlike the rest of sport in this country outside of Nevada?)

There is nothing wrong with 'liking' Casino Drive either as a horse or in this spot. However given his likely odds, I think Steve is absolutely right to NOT 'like' him in this spot.

For those who didn't hear the origin for Chris' "link" here... when pressed yesterday on ATR to endorse Casino Drive, I finally said to the caller "if he wins the Classic I'll take up needlepoint." That's the reference for QC's post...

'Twas a solid link on his part, no doubt- I laughed a little, but I still think you are correct in standing against Casino Drive here.

Well Chris, you have PG1985 on your side. Need I say more.

I really wasn't looking for an endorsement, just how he stacked up against the Euros and what price you could take on them. After looking at the PP's, it is very clear that over 30-1 on "CD" is needed.... even though the three Euros have not raced on anything other than turf, they are miles above "CD" in all respects. With that said, what are fair win odds on the three Euros trying this new surface? The "Duke" sticks out more than the other two.... which I couldn't take under 20-1 on.

Does this mean you will have Dee Tee Stables Sweaters (hand made) available for purchase ? :D

Cross stitch pattern

Casino Drive says, "Maybe Steve Byk could use a photo of my sister beating Curlin as a pattern for his cross stitching. It would make a nice appliqué on a blanket for Mom." Seriously, I would be leaning towards Henry the Navigator at first glance, but if enough people think like Steve and give Casino Drive a fat price (18-1 or greater) I would think about including him in exotics. You can bet on potential if the price is high enough.

Casino Drive will be less than 10-1 imo
undefeated horses are usually overbet relative to their actual chances

In times of economic uncertainty people look for stability and "sure things". Curlin has looked magnificent and hasn't done a thing wrong. Therefore I would expect him to be over bet and an underlay. Remember on BC day(s?) we have people who only know Curlin, Big Brown and Eight Bells- the horses that show up in the mainstream media. They usually tend to bet with favorites or conversely for long shots hoping for a price; leaving the legitimate overlays available. I don’t really think CD will go off above 10 or 12 to 1. I was just surprised at how quickly Steve Byk dismissed CD with his breeding and potential.

Everyday at racetracks across the world there is economic uncertainty and people looking for "sure things" regardless of the world-wide economic situation

Do you stop and chat with crazy people on the street as well?

If so, it's a good thing you're not a regular on the NYC subways.

I just dropped $300 on a Sirius stilleto. You will be hearing from me for years.

If Forever Together loses than I may go into hiding for a few weeks.

I actually thought his comment was funny, and I plan on betting Raven's Pass in the Classic but using CD in a few bets.

I would not be shocked though if Casino Drive romps in the BCC. Horse may just be special. That is why I thought his comment was a little ridiculous. It is very hard to toss a horse with that pedigree that just keeps humiliating his competition. I am not alone in thinking Casino Drive could win the race. Haskin and a few others seem to think very highly of him.
