OT-GPK's Surgery

Okay, okay; I know it's technically OT, but seeing as how Kev is a beloved member of Derby Trail I wanted to get the word out to as many as possible--

I just talked with him and he came through okay-- surgery took about 45 minutes and while he's in a lot of pain from the incision he said he already feels relief in his legs. He's in very loving hands right now and sounds to be doing as well as one can barely a few hours post-op. :)

Fast recovery, Kev! May you be up and about soon!

Thanks for the good news.
Fast recovery Kev!

Thank you for posting Genuine. I am so happy to hear that everything went well. Tell him I said "hello" and that I am thinking about him and am sure that his girlfriend will take excellent care of him when he gets out of the hospital!

I second that! I was gone all weekend and didn't get a chance to talk to him, but I'm so glad that he's ok. :) Stacey is with him, right?

WOW, 45 minutes? What procedure did he have done? Seems like that was kinda fast. Glad to see him come out ok.

Hi, Cajun! Yeah, Stacey's with him; I spoke with her, too, for the first time. She's got a very pretty voice (as pretty as her face :). )

Did you have a good weekend?

Back surgery-- I'm sure he'll give details once he's back online, which I don't think will be too terribly long. I'd offer details except I'm afraid I'll get some wrong and then he'll have to correct me. :)

I will next time I talk to him, but I'm sure he'll see this thread and read everyone's nice thoughts direct from them, too. :)

Good grief; I've got to get away from the smiley button.

Yeah... a very dramatic weekend for sure. I caught a nasty cold and picked up a kitten in the road last night which made my allergies blow up. My laptop blew up this weekend too, so it was definitely a busy weekend.

I am so glad that Kev has Stacey there with him... he's going to need her to take care of him for a few weeks and I know that she really cares about him.

I think he's got the same thing my Dad has... I can't remember what vertebrae it affected though... I hope to God he feels better. They want to do surgery on my Dad too. :(

How long have they been together?

What did you do with the kitten? I am allergic to cats too.

Me, too. It's good to know our boy is in good hands.

I think I just got through that horrible cold myself! Awful sore throat, but over in like two days? Hope you're on the other side of it now!

And I'm allergic to cats, too, which doesn't stop me from petting them and then I'm sorry. Nice of you to pick up the little tyke.

I had to take him to the humane society this morning. I felt terrible too... :( The two ladies there were very reassuring and they thought he had an excellent chance of getting a new home since he was so young and friendly. (He didn't much like my dog though even though she ADORED him. :)) I wish I could have kept him, but I could barely breathe last night and I don't know if it was a combination of my cold and the allergies or just the allergy itself. It's been a long time since I've been around cats, so it's hard to tell. Do your eyes get all swollen and itchy when you're around cats? My nose was running like a faucet. YUCK.

Red itchy eyes, and runny nose. I like to breathe so I stay away from cats. I am ok with them from a distance. Up close and personal, NO WAY!

Kittens find homes quickly. It is the older cats and dogs that have a problem. If that makes you feel any better.
