Dodgers and Cubs.....

Manny will not see a decent pitch with men on base this whole series....

SCUDS vs. Scavs

docicu3 10-01-2008 08:47 PM

This is starting to have the look of a team that is about to kick the crap out of the Cubbies before they realize they are no longer the team that played the first 100 games in Dodger blue...

horseofcourse 10-01-2008 08:53 PM

Who is this Manny Ramirez guy in the middle of the Dodgers order?? Has he always been able to hit and get on base??

SCUDSBROTHER 10-01-2008 08:57 PM

So patient. I'm stunned. We hit mainly mistakes (except Manny's bomb.) We can (for sure) hit mistakes. Don't make them.

This would be 76 for 191 or Manny's batting average as a Dodger......ya think the Blue Man Group coughs up 100 million for 5 years if they were to win the series?

He'll drive you nuts with enough time but he'll hit for a higher average than God!!

horseofcourse 10-01-2008 09:03 PM

Not post season walks per game by Ryan Dempster nor his post season ERA.

Manny can't do it alone though. If the others don't hit, then he strikes out, walks, hits long flyballs, or hits singles. That's his version of pressing. He was starting to press a little before the others got some hits yesterday. That low inside pitch he swung at early yesterday was a sign he was pressing. I am pretty sure he has made up his mind that he wants to stay in L.A., but he is gunna act like he is testing the market(in order to get the money he wants from the Dodgers.)

Billingsley is a talented pitcher that is sloppy. He is sometimes brilliant, mainly just decent, and on occasion very poor. Which one of those three shows up is anybody's guess. I'd be surprised if the sloppy guy( 2 out doubles, a solo home run, and too many pitches thrown etc.) doesn't show up though. Excellent stuff, but hasn't been in command of it well enough to become dominant(bend-don't-break.)

I am still wondering how that ball Edmonds hit off fatboy stayed in the park. Seemed like he got it all, but maybe he slightly miss-hit it. I guess anything can happen once you hit it up in the air at Wrigley.
