Just got back in town and did some catching up on the Curlin predictions, and the opinions, great stuff. LOL, thx I needed this.

Imo Curlin deserves his record, however I still think his races were easier than Cigars, as far as competiton, not his fault. Now with the new Pro- Ride, Curlin has no excuses against BB, so please come up with some other excuse when BB crushes him in the BCC.

What does an earnings record mean anyway these days with the purses being so lucrutive? I think this is one of the most useless stats in racing...I mean what if Forego were racing today how much money would he have under his name. The way purses are these days Curlin's record won't stand forever, nice headline yes...breaking the earnings record umm.. yawn.

It is totally meaningless. Soon enough the DWC alone will get you the earnings record. But whatever they can do to draw headlines on ESPN.com that isn't a horse breaking down or a trainer getting a positive can only be a good thing for the sport.
