Ya know.. you see pictures like this and all you can say is "wow"
This is only about 60 miles from me in a place called Crystal Beach/Bolivar Peninsula.
Hard to believe people actually stayed and tried to ride the storm out..

Rileyoriley 09-19-2008 06:51 PM

I saw that on the news. The only house still standing, built in 2006? I think they said. Supposed to withstand a catagory 5.

herkhorse 09-19-2008 07:04 PM

That's one hell of a house. Not even a shingle missing.

Rileyoriley 09-19-2008 07:08 PM

Perhaps that builder should be put in charge of re-building.:tro:

Here's a pretty neat site that has before/after pictures.

Isn't that Wig,Brown on the left?

And you look like you're about 12 in that photo.

herkhorse 09-20-2008 06:42 PM

Yeah, very cute. All passed out from sniffing gas and starter fluid.

cowgirlintexas 09-20-2008 06:44 PM

It was a picture from someone that was affected by the storm. They didn't have power and I guess the baby decided to curl up with the puppies. :)

herkhorse 09-20-2008 06:46 PM

and the gas and ether

cowgirlintexas 09-20-2008 06:47 PM

Mortimer 09-20-2008 06:55 PM

Forget it.

Took me a minute to figure out what the hell you were talking about.. Good Lord! :zz:
The photo your referring to was taken at Christmas 2006. Justin was 4 :)

I have changed hairdressers since then.
Maybe I should go back if his haircuts took that many years off! :p

Mortimer 09-20-2008 07:35 PM

It was taken at Christmas??

You're kidding me...right?

Mortimer 09-20-2008 08:02 PM

Well there I go again.

Good.

Take Dimmy's corpse with you.

I'm through beating him like a drum tonight.

Yeah, makes that picture a little difficult to believe.

cowgirlintexas 09-22-2008 06:49 AM

They had the owner on the last nights evening news and he said it was built withstand a cat 5 or winds of 135mph..He is hoping it will inspire the neighbors and to give them hope that they can live on the water..

Not me, I would be saying "fucl< it". Really hard to believe that some people stayed there during the storm.. Quite a few are missing and presumed washed out to sea:(

herkhorse 09-22-2008 07:09 AM

Reminds me of the Three Little Pigs. That house must have cost some serious :$: That guy could have stayed home and watched football while his neighborhood washed away.:zz:
