1 mile and 1/8 for 4 Yr and Up. I think that's like 5 circuits around the CT oval. :D

It wasnt that long ago CT didnt give out $1 million in a month of racing

Three turns for a mile and an eighth with a virtually non existant stretch.

Martin Pedroza winning jockey.

I guess the speed horse on the rail will win? That would be a good race for Commentator.

you mean a year.... it used to be 2500 purses up there not too long ago. Its amazing how far that little track has come, bankrupt a handful of times and slots have now pulled a $1M race out of their hat.

as for the 1 1/8th, word is the starting gate will be across the street at the Martins grocery store, crossing 4 lanes of traffic for the first mile then finishing the last 8th on dirt surface

good for them and penn gaming

Actually they run 9 furlong races there a couple of times a week. Again, its three turns and it starts on the back stretch.

Imagine how things would be if they had won their election for table games...

Interesting to see this, and in one sense, it's good to see CT be able to do it.

And yet, for a track that has always had a terrible racing surface, especially in the winter, and considering how protective the locals are with their purse money, I'm kind of surprised to see the money being spent this way. Then throw in the fact that their condition book was an absolute mess earlier this year and I'm amazed this even got done.

I think it's funny how when we used to have a horse that couldn't get it done at Laurel or Pimlico, we'd ship to CT to win a race easily. But not anymore.....
