Perfect Drift

I was at the race and I have to say....I am more impressed with him now than I was before the race. Did he win? No. He doesn't win very often....but that is okay. Perfect Drift shows up. Period. Every time he hits the board in yet another graded stakes race, I become a little more impressed with him.
Other than the grass races they run him in at the start of each year, this has to be one of the most consistent horses in years. They run him in G1s and G2s year after year and he ALWAYS competes.
So it was another 2nd place finish today at Arlington. I am sure some people will see it as a reason to talk more about how "this horse can't win and blah blah blah." Well you know what...they can't all be Affirmed or Sunday Silence. This old boy is just an incredibly consistent and classy racehorse, and I love him for it.

We could call him Alydar? Just kidding!

I love this horse period. My husband does too. He even wore my PD hat today. Honestly, I really want Drifty to win the BCC because it would be something for this old boy to get into the public eye. He really is an inpirational story. Think about it. FC is not the same horse he was as a three year old. IMO, I think Drifty is getting better with age or at least staying consistent. Not to many horses his age could keep up with these top three and four year olds.

That's pretty much how I feel. He keeps showing up and picking up checks against graded stakes company. Doesn't win them all, but is seldom embarrassed either.

The horse is a warrior, but he does have a problem winning. There is definitely something about him lacking the extra little mentally it takes to win.

Horses that win 11 of 39 starts against the best in the sport do not have a problem winning.

Well, we all know PD will show up every time. How about Suave? He looked VERY strong to me. I saw the race he nipped 2nd o June. I really liked him here. I wish I had more cohones to put more than $10 to win on him, but I'll take the $46 bucks back. Suave was much the best today.
