This is beautiful

Looking over R5 at LRL for 9/12, a 2 year old turf sprint

and there are 11 horses out of a possible 14 that either are starting 1st time or going turf 1st time

and

THERE ARE ZERO TURF WORKOUTS for all these horses

WTF? are all these trainers putting them on the turf on a whim?

where the **** are the workouts? give us something believable here

I can't speak to Laurel, but at Arlington you aren't allowed to work on the turf course except for special races..Million Day, etc.

the_fat_man 09-11-2008 08:12 PM

Race 2, CRC

same thing

10 going

ZERO turf workouts

and

they really need to seriously think about trimming some of those trees at AP

blackthroatedwind 09-11-2008 08:20 PM

Most tracks don't let maidens work on the turf. Usually you have to be stakes nominated to work on the grass. Saratoga is the exception because of the turf course at the Oklahoma.

I think some track let horses gallop on the infield.

I have to admit that I took your first rant a few weeks ago about the trees as whatever. But..you have a point after further review

The trees at Arlington are ridiculous. They should cut them down or put up pics of hot chicks while they're going through the forest.

It's a tough place to watch races.

the_fat_man 09-11-2008 08:52 PM

By next year at this time, the entire backstretch run should be obscured.

I'm actually pretty amazed TFM didn't know this.

I gather this is worse than the 'beating' you (apparently) took at SAR?

Believe me, I'm up for a little pity every now and then as well.

Why is this obvious? If I'm not around the track and, until recently, primarily play turf only in NY, why would I know this?

I just meant because you specialize in turf races.

It could be worse: I could have 'pace' in my name and not understand that if I go too fast early I not finishing as fast I normally would.

cmorioles 09-12-2008 02:51 PM

Nice to see you still check in now and then. :)

ninetoone 09-12-2008 02:53 PM

Box of the 3 top choices on the board = $173 triple in this race...not bad.
