White Tie entry...

...on 9-11 at Belmont 6th race. First race was outstanding with lots of trouble, second race, failed to fire, not sure why. Look for a decent price in a field of 10.

This is a pretty dangerous way to play the horses. . .

Buckpasser 09-07-2008 03:47 PM

Why?

hockey2315 09-07-2008 04:02 PM

To simply toss out a race where the horse didn't fire without finding a valid excuse for the poor performance and to "believe" the race where he did (sort of) seems a little lazy to me. The quality of the field in his debut did come up strong (though he hung a bit), but I'm not sure what you can make of his second start to explain it away. . . I also highly doubt he'll be a fair price since he has the second highest fig in the race, red-hot connections, and that $1.3 million price tag. He may very well win, as there doesn't look to be anything special running against him (except for maybe the TAP firster), but he'll almost certainly be an underlay and one to play against.

Thanks. His first race was at Belmont, where he stumbled leaving the gate and was blocked in the stretch, in a very game effort So I would take a chance that he bounced in the race at 'Toga. If he is a short price obviously I would stay away. I was just letting the community know that he was running if anyone was interested. I appreciate your comments.

He " bounced " at Saratoga......seven weeks after his debut????

And people wonder why I ridicule people who use the word bounce.

Oy vey.

By the way, he'll be favored Thursday.....and fairly strongly.

I didn't bet the race but I really can't believe what that horse paid to win. . .

Thanks hooves. . . It's not like I really picked him or actually played him - but I don't understand how a Pletcher by Vindication out of that mare with a VERY nice workout pattern pays $37.40. . . I may have even been scared off of him by the lack of action. . . Kind of like the Asmussen half to Pyro from yesterday - another one that I didn't bet.

When the comment in the chart is simply "bled," I'm going to go ahead and guess it wasn't a great race for White Tie. I hope he comes back ok.
