8/28: Saratoga; Del Mar ($474k C/O)
 

Fun afternoon and evening following the twin carryovers that resulted in quality $50k+ hits for sixkillers at the Spa and a double carry 2nd chance for Del Mar players. Saratoga play featured misses in the P4's, but offset beats with a handful of nice exotic scores including a nightcap backwheel of top pick Piazza di Spagna necessitated by the lawn's obvious current preference for frontrunning types. In the feature, Duggan's Cagey Girl stunned the house with an easy lead wire job, and deep closer Piazza seemed highly vulnerable to similar tactics in the 10th, though most expected Sammy's Toy be the culprit. Weaver's Unflagging took the mantle however, and like Cagey Girl, never gave it up. Weaver's meet has now turned insane. I can never recall him winning like he is currently... Yield Bogey (7-1) was a nice best value key in the 9th... Del Mar P6 hunt was over early... Hope you did well!

Steveo Single of 12-1 Iron Butterfly in the Early P4... Since Silver Knockers is already in the race I feel it only appropriate that Iron Butterfly goes by the handle Big Brass Balls today to honor your single...

LOL.. Appreciate the nod. While I still think Iron Butterfly is a terrific play, I now have Saratoga Steve as the early P4 single with him having drawn in... Gives room to use Nick and Persaud in that 4th. The race that is brutal is the NYB Mdn Clm affair to start things.. Even Odinitz is interesting adding Lasix.

G/L today...

Steveo am I overreacting in being very dissapointed that they included the Hurdlers in the Late P4... They simply could have moved it one notch to the 6th. I would have to think that having a hurdle event in the P4 certainly won't improve the handle on todays late P4.. I think many folks will be passing on the late P4 today

Politics to give the jumpers there due on a day when they run this one race....High Action and J Sheppard should be more than enough here IMO.
