Breeders Cup Weekend/Race Times
 

With the races at Santa Anita, is there any early estimate on what time the races might start? Are they going to be in primetime I'm guessing here in the East Coast with the three-hour time difference?

I watched the talking heads on TVG interview some idiot that had the title of head of marketing for the Breeders Cup the other day. The dude actually said they have looked into making it a three day event in the future.

It looks like they will be not be primetime in the East Coast.

Don't they usually have a few races leading up to the BC races themselves?

If the first BC race is 10:30AM or thereabouts, looking at a potential 9AM first post.

Lucky bastards. 10AM NFL games and now this!

So ABC gets the early races and ESPN gets the classic. Shouldn't it be the other way around?:zz:

ABC usually has their national college football game at 3:30 pm EST

In the past the opening race of the day was a BC event and then there were two or three non-BC stakes races after the Classic.

well they have a "ladies" day and a mens day....what will the third day be? :eek:

you could count the marathon as one. that's what i'm doing and now i'm just pissed they have such a crappy race on the undercard instead of the worst idea for a bc race ever.

to be fair the guy seemed completely unenthusiastic about the idea and threw it out as something that was discussed. he also said when asked about any new races that 15 was enough.

i would take from both answers that they discussed stretching the current format over an additional day.
