That broke my heart too. I singled mambo in Seatle in my pick 3 going into the last leg with 6 horses. I am just pissed!

mambo was much the best, came from well out of it into a very slow pace, john got dream run then took horses out trying to get out, this poster is correct stewards are a joke, and going forward mambo is the only serious horse coming out of this race

Hmmm I have watched this Replay more times than I would like to Admit But too me It looked like G Gomez on Colonel John Was close to Clipping heels With Da Tara And Jerked CJ to the Right Causing all the Confusion.

Must agree That there should have been some sort of Inquiry and the other riders what the Heck are they doing why not claim foul it looked like a pinball machine turning for home.

Just an Observation Round Pen

I think Scuds is right. Gomez gets a free pass.

westcoastinvader 08-23-2008 07:42 PM

I quit paying attention after I heard my single Indyanne came in 2nd (lost) in the first leg of the Pick 4.

I also did not see the next race with my selection of War Monger finishing 2nd.

Being a westcoaster, of course I had Colonel John in the 4th leg, and thanks to reading here elected to have Visionaire in the 3rd leg.

I wonder in Indyanne or War Monger were anywhere close? NY replays anywhere?

Regardless, Indyanne and War Monger were close, but they were certainly "no Cigar."

Wagering today was a Genuine Risk, eh?

I been laughing ever since "the synthetic horse" C.J. got the incredible bob to take the biggest 3 year old race at TOGA( traditional dirt lovers paradise.)

Indyanne lost by a neck after missing the break and running up. She may have run the better race. War Monger lost by a length or so and got passed late.

Both races were pretty close.

Just frustrated right now.

I don't know about back there. I think I saw him not get put up on a Baffert this Spring. I thought he should have been put up.Would have been put up out here. Don't have head-on for the Travers. No doubt he fouls a lot. Like I said, if you foul, then you better run really well after that, or the horse you fouled better not show much run after the foul. Nobody likes to take a horse down that ran that well late, and out-bobbed a horse for a win. It's important for guys (who think they got fouled) to keep riding hard after they're fouled. They need to show the stewards how much horse they had. For the most part, they only want to take down a horse to right an obvious injustice. If he fouled somebody that was flying late, then he had a chance of coming down. If you're asking them to take a winner down for costing someone 5th money, then it's hard to get them to do that.

taking nothing away from mambo, but your idea of a dream trip must be a lot different than mine.

Thanks, Sent to Stud.

For me, another affirmation to stick to my comfortable "one race at a time" wagering motif.

Two fighting 2nd's, and two wins, and my $80 didn't collect a nickle.

"Dream trip" is a relative term

CLOSE TO A SLOW PACE, HUGGING THE RAIL, sitting the "perfect trip"
kind of just drafting behind the speed
then dont get me started on the lack of inquiry, he took macho out of the race

knickslions2 08-25-2008 09:13 AM

I enjoyed the win by Colonel John (best day I had in a while).
