I hate Visionaire

What a parasite..

At least you didn't have to watch the plug knock you out of a $5 pick 4 by appearing out of the fog.

justindew 08-23-2008 05:00 PM

Yeah, it's shocking that a confirmed closer with a record of 4-3-1-0 around one turn was able to come from behind against a field loaded with speed.

I was live in pick threes to the 1 and 8 with Mambo in the Travers and in doubles to the 2 and 10 with the Colonel and Mambo in the Travers. Of course I ran second, third, fourth and fifth behind that rat in the King's Bishop and my two horses run 1-2 in the Travers.

Loaded with speed my foot. It was J Be K and Desert Key. The scratch of Nautical Storm made everyone think they had a chance to steal it, hence the speed duel, hence the only way that rat could ever win a Grade 1.

I knew you'd show up. I'd prefer you to Dew though.. At least you make me laugh.

Seriously, I would've had a very good day had he not won, so if I sound bitter, I am.

I thought this was an outstanding day of racing and a very challenging pick 4, I think you had to go 3 or 4 deep early on to get atleast to the Travers. When you look at the results, a logical case could be made for all of these horses. Whoever cashed today my hats off to them.

I am just messing around man. I have been married to this horse since he won down here in Fla.

I made money on the day...but nothing gigantic. If Shepard's horse won the 8then I woulda hit the late pick 4...did not like the winner of the 8th. Visionaire at 6-1 was honestly not a great price. He got an IDEAL set up today. Won easily....but race was handed to him.

I hate this horse too. Can't believe he won a G1. If Court Vision had gone on to win the Travers I would have given up following horse racing for good. Pyro should have been in this race. And what the hell does Mott have Majestic Warrior sitting in the barn for? Even he might have had a shot with that setup.

Want some whine with that cheese?

Chrsit...it's not like this horse was 50-1......considering the pace scenario he made a lot of sense today.

The Indomitable DrugS 08-23-2008 10:20 PM

Tiz It carved out fractions identical to the King's Bishop...he sure has a way of landing in tough MSW races and always finding one a little better.

CSC 08-23-2008 10:27 PM

If anyone watched the replay of his last race against older On Board Again...Street Magician. He wouldn't have been much of a surprise.

I understand he cost some guys on here money which sucks.....but people make it out like this horse has never done anything. Won a few ok allowance races and The Gotham. Not GREAT races but still pretty good. Too bad the mighty smooth air didnt show up. Pace flow mighta have really worked well for him.

Latana Mob had somewhat the same type of run as Visionaire but
decided bumper cars would be fun instead.

He actually had a better trip.....in my opinion. If he was any good he would have won easily.

He did until the turn. He was in better striking position and then bumper cars.
No one said Mob was that much better than the rest.
Visionaire won.
Do you think he was obviously the best (ie that much better than the rest)?

I dont think he was the obvious winner at all.
And neither did the public.
He won.
Thats all.

He was far from obvious. But he was bet. If they didnt go out in that crazy pace he probably wouldnt have won. But going over the pp's, that pace scenario did figure and he was the best closer in the race. Obviosuly a lot of others saw the same thing because his odds were on the low side. He is a really nice horse goin a mile and under. Hopefully they skip The BC and aim for The Cigar Mile.

As far as being better than the rest...tough call..he beat em all yesterday....but if they crawled early he aint winning.

It worked out nicely for you.
Thats for sure.

Being the best closer does not assure you of a win even if there is pace
in a large field.
Other things have to go well. And they did.
So in retrospect it looks good.
congrats.
