That is insane, you win a 1.5 million purse, and then you feel like coming in two weeks to run for 30k.......

herkhorse 08-15-2008 08:36 PM

I lost 10 bucks when my friend bet me he was running at Vernon Tonight:rolleyes:

herkhorse 08-15-2008 08:38 PM

No WPS betting, only exacta, pic 3

It has to be a special promotion or something, makes zero sense.....They have two other big races so they probably called this guy and said they would put a race together for him with 30k purse, and they are probably given him some appearance fees

Scav 08-15-2008 08:48 PM

what is crazy is that this 9th race is for 123k, but they only have like 2.5k in the win pool and 4800 in the exacta pool....

Not sure how harness purses work, but my guess is that it closely mirrors how Tbreds work, how can they give that out with that little within the pools

herkhorse 08-15-2008 09:16 PM

3.40 exacta

Owner / Driver said afterwords that he needed to keep him active while getting him ready for the Trotting Derby at the end of the month in Duqoinse. I agree with you Scavs if seems a little crazy that he would run the champ for 30k at Vernon. It just shows you the difference in the two industries.

It is a great thing for Vernon Downs, but they sure didn't promote it very well.

Actually, it was on their biggest promotion night. Brian Sears Bobble Head night...
