It's official!!!

Yes, the Big Brown camp really is full of crap!!

27 days isn't enough time for Big Brown to recover. These great athletes need time between races.

Exactly!!

ArlJim78 08-06-2008 03:21 PM

mighty bold of them to offer to meet Curlin in a race that Curlins people say they have no interest in.

Coach Pants 08-06-2008 03:27 PM

It's only fair that Curlin's connections get heat for not running in the BC Classic.

ArlJim78 08-06-2008 03:33 PM

i'm sure wherever they end up running Curlin it will have nothing to do with dodging Big Brown.

I disagree. They aren't ducking anyone. They are ducking a surface that they know sucks.

Actually, that will be a totally new surface by then, but still, I think people are starting to realize how big a scam that AWT crap is.

I applaud them for this!

Coach Pants 08-06-2008 03:38 PM

And being afraid of a surface isn't a chicken move?

DogsUp 08-06-2008 03:41 PM

So Big Brown will have 1 race in ~75 days and that is a tough schedule?

No, it is not being chicken. It's being wary of something potentially harmful.

They weren't afraid to try turf, were they?

Jackson said they wouldnt race there because winning back to back Classics has been done and they wanted to do something different with him, something bigger. i truly don't think they are so stupid as to be afraid of the surface, after all they weren't afraid to try turf.

Harmful? It's not like he's going to die by running on the surface.

That's just ***** talk.

Like Longchamps? Please. That's a pipe dream.

The Japan Cup? Pffft.

Melbourne Cup? LOL.

They're just being a bunch of sissies. They'll run in the classic because their beloved horse got beat by Red Rocks.

I dont blame them for ducking Curlin. He was all out to beat Coal Play. They'll probably go to the Penn Derby and win a head bob over the mighty Smooth Air.

Big Brown wouldnt finish within 5 lengths of Curlin.

Danzig 08-06-2008 07:29 PM

i don't have a problem with curlin skipping the bcc. a lot of us complain that there is too much weight to that race that day, that it shouldn't have so much bearing on year-end honors. so how can we then complain if it gets skipped? it's only one race.
i just think it's sad that every race leading up to the derby is a prep, and every race after it is a prep for the bc. there is something very wrong with that line of thinking.

Curlin is a Beast
