LUCKY or NOT

Some perfect trip winners today on the SPA turf:

R1) Cable

R6) Dark Sky

R9) Red Giant

And, those who could've gotten just a wee bit better trip:

R6) Kewland

R9) Stalingrand.

Couldn't agree more with each one. Kewland was one that certainly hurt, but that sort of ride is expected from Bridgmohan. Red Giant's trip was beyond perfect but I've always been of the opinion that he is a pretty good horse. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get totally exposed in his next start at a very short price.

By far the most frustrating perfect trip loser of the day for me was Giant Wrecker at Monmouth.

Red Giant definitely fortunate that Thorns Song opened a hole
for him in the stretch... maybe a touch of a nudge helped him
drift out along with fatigue.

I know you are the king of trips around here but I am starting to develop an anti trip bias in my handicapping, there are not many trips that seem to go unnoticed to the sharper outfits and trips in general need to be in context.

The best trip plays to me are horses with little form to go on and one bad trip leads to huge odds, or horses off layoff where a bad trip tricks people into thinking the horse was not right.

I hope that makes sense, believe me I am one who watches and notes a lot of trips but they never have been the bonanza that other factors have been.

Unfortunately I had money on both Kewland and Stalingrad today!
