29 days until Bama-Clemson.

So tired of that sport played by future Univision soap opera actors I can puke.

they treated him like a normal person. while the Stallings were in Tuscaloosa, "Johnny" had a job. everyday after work John Mark would come to practice and work with the equipment managers. the football equipment room at Alabama as of 2 years ago has John Mark's name on it.

Good...I think for anybody, parent or not, the thing to do is treat all people with disabilites as if they had none---to the extent that you can....and in an honest way.

I know I'm full of ca-ca....but I live near someone with Downs and talk to him a lot. One day he was talking about someone else who was bothering him and he broke in with.." you know ,I realize have Down Syndrome ,but that doesn't mean I'm stupid."

I hope I didn't show my shock...don't think so. For some idiotic reason I was really floored by watching him tell me he knows what he has and did it in a very clear way...he understood what he has.

I was the one that felt completely stupid.

good man morty for spending time with him.

Mortimer 08-02-2008 07:14 PM

Too kind....but it's the very least any of us could do. You are ,again, too kind---but I didn't type it for me. I had forgot about this passage of time and thought it sort of important to throw out.

Honest...I was that dumb. I do not even give one thought to someone like him realizing what they had. I can't tell you how dumbfounded I was when he said that.

Fucl<...he probably did notice it. I'll bet his thought was.." Normal people------what are ya gonna do??"

I knew deep down I liked you for a reason.

I could not begin to fathom what it would be like being a parent of a child with D.S. People like John Mark are just up against it every day, from day one of their life. The Stalling's are an incredible family and I'm sure John Mark is enjoying life in heaven as we speak.

RIP

Danzig 08-03-2008 01:55 AM

very sorry to hear that the stallings lost their son. parents are never supposed to bury their child.
