no one dared

...to even give the Marathon Division the slightest respect at hallowed Saratoga...Guess what ? Evening Attire took it on the road and elevated the "new" division to superstar status on his own broad shoulders. Saratoga, great history and all, didn't see the forest through the trees on this one.

Do you think there is anyone with any shred of humility left in Saratoga that will apologize to true horse racing fans for their arrogance and total lack of respect and understanding about what makes great stamina runners great ?

Hey, hoity toity Saratoga has snubbed the Marathon Division and Evening Attire. They have put themselves ahead of a "new" direction in the game in favor of appeasing their owner du jour playmates.

Utterly tiresome.. A new low in ridiculousness. Saratoga didn't 'snub' anyone. The schedule of BC Marathon races was established with the tracks and NYRA's race was the Brooklyn. The Greenwood (PHA) was the most recent and there are two more upcoming later in the summer/early fall at Turfway and somewhere else.

The record remains intact. 2951 and counting.

It isn't even worth arguing. I don't know why we bother.

Speaking of new lows, 'Hoity toity' Saratoga is running a 25k MCL race on Wednesday. I don't ever remember them going that low.

(note that the condition book has been chock full of fantastic races so far so this is an isolated case)

They are also running a $16k nw1y on Wed. YIKES!

The fact is that many of those allowances are just not filling and they are forced to use extras. That fact that they are running so many 10 and 11 race cards doesn't help either.

Doesn't Saratoga run like a mile and 3/4 listed stakes late in the meet usually?

Actually two miles sounds right since I'm pretty sure it started in the 7 furlong chute.

It was 2 miles and an optional claimer NW1x/40K, if I recall.

Just for Sumitas, to get his mind off the above picture, they're running that same two miler on Saturday the 16th, and it could be worth $100K+ depending on how many entries they get.
