Cannon; Billy Packer out

If you were having a bad day, maybe this helps.

Speculation of Packer's exit was fueled amid widespread criticism during this year's tournament.

I'm in the minority, but I liked him.

i used to like him. i grew up listening to packer and thacker do the ACC feature games. when he went national i couldn't stand listening to him. he used to beat up the ACC regularly and he played at Wake!

From the little i actually listened to him he didnt seem to like anyone. But the bigget issues i had was he would say things that were incorrect or he would toot his own horn with "I told ya so" so much that he would tell us "I told ya so" even when he was wrong. He simply made the game less enjoyable to watch and did not really educate the viewer which should be the primary goal of a broadcaster.

He sure liked Tubby Smith. With a proven track record of hating on Kentucky, this was an indicator to the university that it was time for Tubby to move on.

it's kinda sad because he never used to be that way when he was regional. i know the camera guys never cared much for packer but they love bill raftery.

That was my problem exactly. and poor Jim Nantz who is actually a credible play by play guy.

Yes, that Billy Packer was "one tough monkey".

When he never apologized for that incredibly poor act after the Patriots shoved it in his face by reaching the final 4, he should have been fired right then. He disrespected the school and the entire CAA with his hopeless lack of knowledge. Maybe if he actually WATCHED a few games outside of the ACC he'd know how good that league was that year.

The 7th place team, on consecutive nights, took Duke to the wire and had UCLA completely beaten with 5 seconds to play before throwing away an inbounds pass that would have sealed it. I think that says enough.
